British Desserts

We recently made our first trip across the Atlantic.  Our passports have been stamped and we have been bitten hard by the travel bug to do it all again.  Because cakes and all desserts are of course "my thing" I tried to grab a few photos before we gobbled them down.  That turned out to be a harder issue than it sounds like.  We walked all day and enjoyed  so many sights that by the time we sat down to dinner and started recapping the day with each other we just dug right in before thinking half of the time.  So some of these are also just what we found enjoyable through the window.

Coffee of many varieties was a daily necessity - several times actually!! This one was from Jacob's Coffee House in Bath.

Sometimes a little nod to home as well, I mean, we are from Washington after all!

There were a lot of pictures uploaded to our Instagram accounts as well which can be seen
here, here and here

These we saw in the window in Windsor just outside the Castle

We also were given this absolutely adorable cake from one of our hostesses to help us celebrate our oldest daughter's - Sydney - 23rd birthday.  A big THANK YOU again to Sally from The Vine in the Cotswolds.

some lunch selections from Edinburg, Scotland

Ice cream in Hyde Park

after seeing all of these I have macarons and profiteroles on my list. . .

but I ended up going with the ice cream.  I still don't understand the spoons, they were sample sizes!  I guess it was just to slow us down :)

Again, a little dessert styled from home while walking along the boardwalk next to "The Eye"

Chocolate Mousse cake and cheesecake from Jamie Oliver's The Diner near Piccadilly Circus

I wish all of these were gluten free but sadly they were not.  We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back.  At least three of us because our youngest, Audrey is still there doing a semester abroad!  She's having the time of her life, but we can't wait to get her back at Christmas time!
